    The prolific occasion horse and showjumping proprietor Sue Davies died peacefully at her residence within the Isle of Man on 13 January, aged 73, from most cancers.

    Born on the Isle of Man, Sue married Manx-based businessman Edwin Davies in 1989. They travelled the world extensively, usually visiting her son in Australia and spending winter months within the Caribbean.     Sue branched out into eventing, having Caroline Pratt journey some home-breds, and she or he purchased Name Once more Cavalier. Following Caroline’s premature dying at Burghley in 2004, Sue requested Mary King to journey her beloved “Cavvy”. Imperial Cavalier and Fernhill Urco have been added to her string, and Irish rider Austin O’Connor, who now rode the home-breds, had Jean Teulere’s Olympic horse Passion Du Mee purchased for him to journey. She was fiercely aggressive and had many prestigious accolades from European Championships, World Championships, five-star occasions and Olympics, together with a silver medal on the London Video games.

    A letter from a younger bold pony eventing rider from the Isle of Man led to a job at Sue’s Cheshire yard for Yasmin Ingham. After Eddie’s dying in 2018, Sue purchased the younger French horse Banzai Du Loir. The mix gave her many wins together with the particular person World Championship in Pratoni in 2022, and Sue attended regardless of her unwell well being. The win made her goals come true.

    She generously supported Bradwall Horse Trials and Ebony Horse Membership in Brixton, whereas different donations included the refurbishment of the Temperate Home at Kew Gardens.
