Lion – The biggest cat in Africa
Eland – The second largest antelope
Giraffe – The tallest animal on this planet
Ostrich – The biggest chook on this planet
Kori Bustard – The heaviest flying chook on this planet
Baobab Tree – Essentially the most iconic tree in Africa
These giants alone make Mashatu properly value a go to, however there may be an 8th and vitally vital big that hardly ever will get talked about, important to the working of our distinctive reserve and to creating lasting reminiscences for our visitors – Our 235 staff!

Of our 235 whole staff… 97% are Motswana, of which 88% are from our native district of Bobirwa. 33 staff are in senior administration positions and of this … 58% are girl. Statistics we’re exceptionally happy with. PULA!
