The eighth “Large of Mashatu”

Mashatu Recreation Reserve is called “The Land of the Giants” and is dwelling to a minimum of seven of Africa’s giants.  These embody:

African Elephant – The biggest land mammal

Lion – The biggest cat in Africa

Eland – The second largest antelope

Giraffe – The tallest animal on this planet

Ostrich – The biggest chook on this planet

Kori Bustard – The heaviest flying chook on this planet

Baobab Tree  – Essentially the most iconic tree in Africa

These giants alone make Mashatu properly value a go to, however there may be an 8th and vitally vital big that hardly ever will get talked about, important to the working of our distinctive reserve and to creating lasting reminiscences for our visitors – Our 235 staff!

As a visitor, at one in all our lodges, you’ll probably solely meet the entrance of home workers that work at our camps, however behind them is a full staff of devoted help workers caring for upkeep, logistics, autos, roads and conservation.  With out this staff we’d not be capable of provide the pleasant hospitality that’s synonymous with Mashatu.

Of our 235 whole staff… 97% are Motswana, of which 88% are from our native district of Bobirwa. 33 staff are in senior administration positions and of this … 58% are girl. Statistics we’re exceptionally happy with. PULA!

Right this moment we have fun all 235 giants which might be the heartbeat of Mashatu Recreation Reserve, together with our inspiring and hardworking staff of ladies … the matriarchs of Mashatu.
