Elfride ran with promise in her first handicap at Exeter yesterday. Travelling and leaping effectively, she moved into rivalry with the leaders turning for house. The bottom was heavy and wouldn’t have suited her ideally and I’m positive she would recognize some higher floor. We stay up for her repaying her connection’s endurance within the not too distant future.
I used to be unable to attend Exeter yesterday as I had the privilege of being requested to ship John Hanmer’s eulogy at his funeral in Ardington, Oxfordshire. John was an ideal pal to many and was a consummate skilled as a broadcaster, commentator and race reader.
Blessed with a beautiful mind and a very good wit, the church in Ardington was full of pal that return many many years. Lots of the nice and good of racing have been in attendance to say goodbye to somebody significantly beloved and revered.
